2019: Smart Drive’s dynamic presence in transportation, construction and mining safety - Goals for the next decade
In 2019, Smart Drive expanded its operations in Asia and the Middle East, as well as in the US. In Bulgaria, it promoted the development of a network of driving simulators and road safety in collaboration with well-known journalists such as Mrs Angelova.
In Greece Smart Drive participated in the 7th Supply Chain & Logistics Exhibition at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens between 9-11 November 2019, in which he presented 3 driving simulators of all categories of vehicles and heavy machinery, a roll over car simulating an accident with 50 km/h, a seat belt convincer with a double seat, reaction time devices, simulation goggles, and other interactive cognitive tools.
Smart Drive offers personalized road safety seminars to company executives, tailored made straight to the needs and the most important: the budget of each company! In 2019 it has been selected by Hellas Gold for the “Road Safety Day” as a part of Eldorado Gold’s annually held “International Safety Week”. It has been selected – under a tender procedure – for the implementation of road safety seminars for the company personnel in parallel with a road safety audit and a road risk assessment, a combination that Smart Drive proposed in the early 2010s decade.
Within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), it collaborated (or it will collaborate in the near future) closely with public and private sector organizations that strongly promote road safety, such as (in chronological order) the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the Pan-Hellenic Association of Driving Instructors (POEO), the Hellenic Federation of Road Transports (OFAE), the “Life Issue” Institute for Sustainability and Safety, the Thessaloniki Automobile Club (ΑΟΤΗ), the Youth Thassos Association (YouThassos), the Western Greece Road Observatory and the Western Axis Road Observatory (POADEP), the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT/CERTH), the University of Thessaly, the Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health & Safety (ELINYAE), victims or relatives of accident victims, the Aris Stathakis Road Safety Institute (STAR). Typical examples include the participation of significant equipment in events in Thassos, Polykastro Kilkis, the 84th Thessaloniki International Exhibition, the ELAS celebration in Zappeion, the 4th SPORTEXPO exhibition and school trainings in Central Macedonia Region (eg Municipality of Kalamaria). The company’s practical contribution into accident prevention and the gradual recognition of the importance of the interactive cognitive tools in safety pushes the company to expand its partnerships with an even wider range of stakeholders.
With the new decade at the forefront, the immediate strategic planning of the company is to establish itself as the most reliable and cost-effective financial advisor on road safety, transportation, construction and mining safety. The development of new simulator models (beyond driving ones), the extension of its action into port simulators and the development of safer autonomous vehicles through the development of specialized software are into Smart Drive’s priorities.
